Basket Market Restarts for 2014/15
Dear Basket Market lovers,
Daylight saving is upon us and that has been for many years the start of the Deviot Basket Market!
This year the market is looking for a new person or group of people to in-vigour the concept of this popular weekly event.
To meet and talk about new ideas there will be
the first market on Saturday, the 4th October, 10-11.30.
Please bring along produce, eggs, fresh veggies, flowers, plants... or just enjoy to meet everyone again after their winter hibernation or holiday abroad.
Please think about what you like about the market and Saturday morning catch up and how you would like to see it continue (weekly, monthly....).
Without a new team of enthusiastic people with fresh ideas there won't be anything happening. It is up to you.
Due to other commitments Caroline and myself won't be available this year to help with the organisation of it all.
For any questions please give me a ring under 0439305606.
Kind Regards
Bettina
Next Saturday 29th March 2014 will be the last basket market till next summer.
Finishing one week earlier than advertised due to poor growing season this year. So come along between 10 and 11.30am for a chat and coffee or tea with friends while you browse through the weekend papers and pick up some of the fresh produce which is still available. Apples, zuccinni, tomatoes, olive oil, honey and more!
The Deviot Community Basket Market Has re-started for the 2014 Summer Season
Fresh Produce from the Gardeners and Small Producers of the Tamar Valley
every Saturday during Daylight Savings, 10-11.30am
The harvesting season is in full swing now and you couldn’t have a better time to enjoy the Deviot Hall deck with a light breeze from the river, a coffee in one hand and the weekend paper in the other.
Bring your family, neighbours and friends along.
Thank you for supporting this event
by coming regularly and buying fresh and local produce.
There are too many good things now to list them all, but there will be:
- yummy strawberries from Hillwood,
- potatoes and truss tomatoes from Glengarry,
- local garlic, spring onions and leeks,
- silverbeet and lettuce,
- herbs, beans, snow peas, zucchini and cucumber,
- flowers, lemons, figs and plants,
- Ian and Julia’s honey and loooooots more!
Hope to see you there!
Basket Market re -starts for 2013
Thank you every one for joining our first Basket Market for the season.
It was exciting to see so many old and new faces, beautiful presented fresh produce and lots of happy smiles.
We hope we can continue this great spirit! A big thank you goes to all the stallholders, busy gardeners and helpers of the market! Without you it wouldn't exist!!!
Even if we just have October and the rain kept the growth in our gardens in cold and wet hands, we had quiet a good range on offer: silverbeet, lemons, rhubarb, herbs, lettuce, flowers, seedlings, Monica's fresh pumpkin, leeks, asparagus, Ian and Julia's honey, coffee, free paper and sunshine on the deck.
Some local businesses are kindly supporting our Basket Market and the Deviot Hall:
Allison and Bradley from Top Qual Calthorpe Orchard in Sidmouth donated a box of Pink Lady Apples.
You will also be able to buy seedlings and seeds from the Inspiration Garden Centre on a regular basis at the Hall. David will kindly donate 50 cents of each sold punnet.
Hope to see you next Saturday.
